The point of Danielou’s historical insights might have freed him from this regressive mistake.
The entire point of seeing the real history of Shaivism and Jainism should be a warning against the spurious character of the grafting together of two different things in the Aryan entry into India. Caste has no place in the greater Indian tradition. Period.
