December, 1975 in Morristown, NJ from a fellow named Lee Lozowick. Lee
was excellent and the Silva organization lost a superb instructor when
he declared he had achieved total ENLIGHTENMENT and formed a spiritual
community around him. I used it what worked for me (never did get the
hang of some techniques) for a long time but gradually began to let
practice slip and before I knew it, it got away from me. Some part of it
has to do with practicing zazen for years now, which IMHO is not 100%
compatible with the Silva Method.

Frankly, I dont think awakenings or spontaneous enlightenments prove anything. Andrew Cohens career is a reminder to exercise caution when someone tools into town claiming their awakening entitles them to your deference and endows them with some special claim to authority.

This article in the New York Times describes the predicament of a man who found he rather easily achieved a precoccious satori BECAUSE he had suffered emotional trauma and learned at an early age to dissociate from personal pain.
